Supplies Donation Policy

 PNNAG Donation Policy:

PNNAG (Pacific Northwest Needle Arts Guild) gratefully accepts donations and gifts to further our mission to enable individuals to pursue knowledge in the needle arts to raise and maintain standards of technique and design.

Philosophy: We accept donations for 2 purposes.
  1. To be of service to our members as we provide supplies for classes and personal projects via rummage sales and auctions.
  2. For fundraising purposes, either directly in sales of rummage, or to provide supplies with which to make holiday sale items and gift gang items.

General principles:

Current Members get priority to donate, then past members and finally non- members or professional organizers.
We request a minimum of 4 weeks’ notice prior to any large donation.
Library books will not be duplicated.
Visibly damaged, old, or odorous items will not be accepted.
The chair of the fundraising committee has final say over accepting non-book donations in consultation with the president or vice president. Members who are contacted about donations should contact one of these three people.
Donors will be responsible for arranging transport of the donation.

Categories:

Books: The person wishing to donate must contact the library chairperson and request a list of current titles: we will not accept duplicates of books already in our library. The library chairperson then has the discretion to accept any books which they feel will benefit the membership (see attached library policy for additional information).
Fabric: Fabric must be clean, and of sufficient size to be useful for projects. No household linens partially finished sewing projects, or clothing. Even weave fabrics for embroidery is accepted. Trims accepted as needs and room permits. Notions & tools for sewing & needlework. Clean fiberfill and batting.
Beads: Beads of all kinds, costume jewelry, cords, chains, findings, and jewelry making tools.
Thread, both sewing and embroidery: Complete hoops, frames, kits, and partially finished embroidery projects.
Yarn: Complete balls, but not required to be more than one ball. Roving; dyed or undyed, but no raw wool. Tools for knitting, crochet, felting, or other yarn uses.
Craft supplies: General art and craft supplies except candle making materials. Stamps and scrapbook supplies in good shape and enough to be used. Fine art supplies limited to brushes, acrylic paint, pastels, and sketch pads/paper. No oil paints.
Liquids, paints, and chemicals: Must be in original container, unexpired, and not leaking. No hazardous materials will be accepted.
