Ever wanted to decorate your own textiles? In this class, we’ll learn how to make a repeating pattern block print, and then use it to stamp our designs on your choice of a canvas tote bag or zippered pouch. You’ll also gain skills to keep printing on fabrics you have at home!
Students will gain an introduction to block printing on fabric and how to create repeating patterns. The EasyCarve blocks we’ll use are soft and easier than carving linoleum. You will leave with a decorated tote bag/pouch and your own carved block to use for further printing.
Students can opt to bring extra fabric/totes etc. to print on – knit/woven fabrics are not suitable. Fabrics will be wet when students leave; we recommend letting them air-cure for up to a week before using.
