Sat Mar 25 Painted Paper Collage Class 10am–4pm. *Registration closed*
With Suzanne Tilley Room 120 Good Shepherd Center 4649 Sunnyside Ave Seattle WA *Registration closed* Students will create a torn paper collage on a 5” x 7” birch wood panel from papers that have been painted with translucent liquid acrylic paints. The liquid acrylics allow the words and designs on the papers to show through. Painted papers, such as maps, sheet music, pages from children’s books, old letters, recipes, etc., add special meaning to the collages. If desired, students can bring bits of thread, ribbons, charms, etc., to add to the collage once the paper has been applied Students will need to trim the edges and varnish their collage at home after the gel medium has dried thoroughly. Varnish and picture wire will be sent home with the students so that they will have a finished piece of art to hang on their walls. A $25 kit includes all these materials.
